


More than 40 pilots from 7 Eastern European countries have gathered for the biggest EEDC 2019 drifting competitions in Raubichi
Last weekend, October 5, at the biathlon stadium in Raubichi, the Parimatch Eastern European Cup drifting EEDC 2019 was held.
The competition brought together more than 40 athletes from Belarus, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Finland and Estonia. According to the results of qualification races, only 24 pilots remained. For the different reasons, the favorites of the competition did not fall into the final rounds: the 2019 Belarus Champion Gediminas Levickas and the famous Russian pilot Sergey Kabargin. The main race of the season already at the qualification stage showed a high level of skill of athletes and intense competition.
The first place in the qualification was taken by the Champion of Ukraine Alexey Golovnya, the second place – the Champion of Lithuania Andrius Vasiliauskas, the third – the Champion of Estonia Harold Valdma, the fourth at the Champion of Belarus Dmitry Nagula.
Final pair races were especially intense. Racers rode at the peak of their capabilities – not without contacts. The degree of intensity of passions reached its maximum during the collision of Ukrainian pilots Alexey Golovny and Sergey Gubanov. Alexey was able to continue participating and completed the competition on the second step of the podium. The winner was Harold Valdma, Andrius Vasiliauskas took the third place. The famous Polish athlete, the winner of the Driftmasters 2017 championship, Adam Zalewski, with the help of Belarusian mechanics, was able to restore his car after a small collision, but did not claim to win.
Competitions ended already in the dark under the light of spotlights. Raubichi, according to the audience and participants, is currently the most technical and spectacular track in Belarus. The high-quality online broadcast organized by Belarus 5 was watched by more than 30,000 people, not counting the airtime.
The Eastern Europe Drifting Cup was held with the support of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
